Frequently asked questions
How do I sign in to Murmur?
Enter your email on the sign-in screen and we’ll send you a one-time magic link or a 6-digit verification code — there’s no password to remember. Never share your sign-in code or link with anyone, including someone claiming to be Murmur support.
How do daily questions and results work?
Each day Murmur asks one question. Once you answer, you can see aggregate results showing how other users responded. You must answer before you can see results for that question.
Why can't I see results yet?
Results unlock after you submit an answer to that question. Some results may also be hidden until enough people have answered, to help protect anonymity in smaller groups.
What are streaks and how do I keep mine?
Your streak counts consecutive days you’ve answered the daily question. Answer each day’s question to keep your streak going; missing a day resets it.
What are private groups, and how do I join or create one?
Private groups let you compare answers with a smaller circle, like friends or family. You can create a group from the Groups tab and invite others, or join a group using an invite link someone shares with you.
What are communities?
Communities are shared interest groups you can join to see how people with similar interests answered a question, in addition to your friends and private groups.
How do notifications work?
Murmur can notify you when a new daily question is available or when there’s activity in your groups. You can manage or turn off notifications any time from Settings → Notifications.
Is my answer really anonymous?
Your individual answer is shown anonymously to other users in results — other people don’t see your name attached to your answer. Murmur still keeps backend records tied to your account to prevent duplicate voting, provide your history, and keep the Service secure. See our Privacy Policy for details.
How do I delete my account?
In the Murmur app, go to Profile → Settings → Account → Delete Account. Type DELETE to confirm. This permanently removes your profile, answers, votes, friendships, group memberships, and other account data. Aggregate poll totals may change. Submitted question ideas are deleted; questions Murmur already published may remain without attribution to your account. If you own a private group, ownership transfers to another eligible member, or the group is deleted if no other eligible member remains. You do not need to email us to finish deletion. If you cannot sign in, contact privacy@checkmurmur.com.
