Murmur is designed so that your answers are shown anonymously to other users.

This means other users should not see your individual answer attached to your name, username, email, or profile.

However, Murmur may maintain backend records associated with your account or device in order to:

• Record that you answered.
• Prevent duplicate voting.
• Enforce app rules.
• Show you your history or streaks.
• Provide results and result slices.
• Prevent spam, fraud, manipulation, or abuse.
• Debug issues.
• Keep the Service secure.
• Comply with legal obligations.

Because of this, you should understand “anonymous” in Murmur to mean “displayed anonymously to other users,” not “impossible for Murmur systems to process or associate with backend records.”

Murmur may create aggregated, de-identified, statistical, or non-identifying insights from use of the Service.

For example, we may analyze or share broad trends, percentages, comparisons, or patterns across groups of users.

Murmur may use, publish, license, sell, or otherwise commercialize aggregated, de-identified, statistical, or non-identifying insights, provided those insights are not intended to identify an individual user.

We do not intentionally provide buyers or partners with your name, email address, username, raw identifiable answer history, private friend graph, private group membership, or other information intended to identify you as an individual, except as described in this Privacy Policy or with your consent.

We may use technical, contractual, statistical, threshold, aggregation, suppression, or other safeguards to reduce the risk that insights identify an individual user.

We may use analytics tools to understand how people use Murmur, improve the product, debug issues, measure performance, and protect the Service.

Analytics may process information such as:

• Feature usage.

We do not intentionally send analytics providers your email address, raw answer text, selected answer text, private group names, invite codes, or private relationship graphs unless disclosed or necessary for the Service.

Some technologies are essential to operate Murmur. Others may be used to understand and improve the Service.

Your individual answers are intended to be displayed anonymously in results. However, in small groups or specific contexts, other users may make guesses or inferences based on timing, context, screenshots, outside conversations, or other information. Do not submit answers you are not comfortable providing under this risk.

Murmur is intended for users who are at least 13 years old.

Some questions, communities, or features may be more appropriate for adults than for younger users. Murmur may tailor, limit, filter, or separate questions, feeds, communities, features, result slices, or recommendations based on age, safety, moderation, product integrity, or legal requirements.

Murmur may develop separate question experiences for different age groups, including lighter or more age-appropriate question tracks for users ages 13–17. Unless and until such features are available, users should only answer questions they are comfortable answering.

We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to use Murmur.

We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide, improve, secure, and operate Murmur, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, and maintain records.

Some information may be retained after account deletion if necessary for:

• Legal compliance.
• Security.
• Fraud or abuse prevention.
• Debugging.
• Enforcing voting integrity.
• Backup or archival systems.

When you delete your account, your individual answers are removed and are not kept as anonymized copies. Because your answers are removed, aggregate result totals may change afterward. We may still retain aggregated, de-identified, statistical, or non-identifying insights that are not intended to identify you.

Murmur is not intended for children under 13.

Users who are at least 13 but under the age of majority should use Murmur only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

However, no online service is completely secure. We cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed.

You are responsible for keeping your account and login methods secure.

Murmur is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that information may be processed in the United States or other locations where we or our service providers operate.
